Wireless technology has come a long way in the past few decades, and the latest iteration, WiFi 6, represents a major leap forward in terms of speed, coverage, and efficiency. If you’re in the market for a new WiFi setup, you may be wondering whether to opt for a traditional router or a managed WiFi 6 mesh system. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of managed WiFi 6 mesh systems and why they may be a better choice than getting your own router.

Wifi 6 Mesh Pods

First, let’s define what we mean by a managed WiFi 6 mesh system. Simply put, it’s a network of interconnected wireless access points that work together to provide seamless, high-speed coverage throughout your home or office. The “managed” part of the equation refers to the fact that these systems are typically purchased and set up by a service provider, who then handles all of the maintenance and troubleshooting for you.

So, what makes managed WiFi 6 mesh systems a superior choice to traditional routers? Here are a few key advantages:

Improved coverage: One of the biggest advantages of managed WiFi 6 mesh systems is their ability to provide reliable, high-speed coverage throughout your entire home or office. Traditional routers can struggle to reach every corner of a large space, leading to dead spots and inconsistent performance. With a managed WiFi 6 mesh system, you can place multiple access points throughout your space, ensuring that every device has a strong, stable connection.

Easy setup and maintenance: Setting up a traditional router can be a headache, especially if you’re not particularly tech-savvy. Managed WiFi 6 mesh systems, on the other hand, are typically much easier to set up and maintain. Your service provider will handle all of the heavy lifting, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance. This can save you a lot of time and hassle, especially if you’re not comfortable tinkering with network settings.

Advanced features: Managed WiFi 6 mesh systems often come with a range of advanced features that can make your life easier and your network more secure. For example, many systems come with built-in parental controls, allowing you to set limits on your kids’ internet usage and block inappropriate content. Others come with advanced security features, such as firewalls and VPN support, to help protect your network from cyber threats.

Scalability: If you have a growing business or a large, multi-story home, you may find that your traditional router simply can’t keep up with your needs. Managed WiFi 6 mesh systems, on the other hand, are highly scalable, allowing you to easily add additional access points as your needs change. This can be a huge advantage, as it ensures that your network will always be able to support your growing number of devices.

Of course, managed WiFi 6 mesh systems do come with some potential downsides. For one thing, they can be more expensive upfront than traditional routers. However, when you factor in the cost of ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting, a managed system may actually be more cost-effective in the long run. The expensive upfront cost problem, when they are rented from your Internet Service Provider, is mitigated especially because they absorb the time consuming installation cost and do not charge any setup or hardware fees other than the first month’s rental fee.

Overall, managed WiFi 6 mesh systems offer a number of significant benefits over traditional routers. If you want reliable, high-speed coverage throughout your home or office, easy setup and maintenance, advanced features, and scalability, a managed system may be the right choice for you. While they may be more expensive upfront, they can save you time and money in the long run, making them a smart investment for any home or business.

Starting May 12, 2021, Succeed.net will offer eligible families a monthly service discount of up to $50 per month off their Succeed.net internet service thanks to the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Broadband Benefit program. The amount of the discount can not make the service result in a credit but can make the Internet service free or highly discounted. The FCC will compensate us separately for qualified households for the credit

For example your internet service is $59.99 – $50 EBB credit will result in a $9.99 per month Internet service cost plus any applicable taxes or fees you already see on your bill.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for reliable internet service, but the price can big factor for some families. Because of this, the FCC created Emergency Broadband Benefits to help qualifying households afford their internet. Eligible households can apply for $50 per month towards broadband service or up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

Have received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;

Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29, 2020, and the household had a total income in 2020 at or below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers; OR

Meet the eligibility criteria for a participating provider’s existing low-income or COVID-19 program.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit is limited to one monthly Internet service account discount and one device discount per household.

NEW AIR FIBER INTERNET SERVICE PLANS:

We have released new internet plans and brought back urban and rural pricing to be more competitive where it counts. Our new plans are the full range of Residential, Small Business, Symmetric Plans, and Full Dedicated links. In all cases the plans have increased data caps and faster minimum speeds to allow streaming video content (YouTube, Netflix, Playstation Vue, SlingTV, etc). Some Wireless ISP’s say they have unlimited caps but most, if not all, do behind the scenes shaping so maybe there is no monthly cap, but your speed may be useless during prime time. As far as we know we are offering the fastest speeds and highest caps of any Wireless ISP’s in our coverage areas.

We are determined to be industry leaders in rural areas for speed and service quality.

You can upgrade to these new plans at any time starting Feb 1st, 2018 for just the difference in price. No upgrade fees even if your account requires a new generation radio.

In 2017 we did tons of backbone connections between the tower upgrades to licensed gigabit radios so now for 2018 we have started rolling out upgrades to latest generation gigabit access points to allow us to offer up to 100mbps in Urban / Suburban areas (Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, West Sacramento, Natomas, Roseville/Rocklin, Yuba City and nearby areas). We are also doing some of our larger tower sites such as the Buttes, Browns Valley area, Oregon house in rural areas we expect to complete by 1st quarter. These new access points have a new technology filter and improves the signals of all existing customers for improvements all around. To take advantage of the new maximum speeds requires a new customer side radio that you will automatically get if you upgrade.

10 GIGABIT INTERNET GATEWAY UPGRADES:

To feed all this likely bandwidth growth and new customers we are upgrading all our internet connections. Estimated by end of February we are also upgrading all our fiber connections to 10Gbit that feed our Internet access network along with all the backup redundant connections all to 10Gbit in Sacramento, Roseville, and Yuba City (dual 10Gbps that feeds most of the rural networks).
